Jay Bellamy was born (July 8, 1972) in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
Jay attended Matawan Regional High School and was a letterman in football and track. In football, he was a two-way starter as a quarterback and a free safety.
He played college football at Rutgers, and was originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 1994 to the Seattle Seahawks until 2000.
Jay is most noted for playing safety for the New Orleans Saints from 2001 to 2007.
